Rundown while Making Gains-8.11. 2025

📢 Raider Families! 📢

What an exciting week we’ve had here at Eastwood Middle School! Our students continue to shine, and we are so proud of the energy and spirit they bring each day.

First, let’s give a huge shout-out to our 6th graders—last week’s Free Dress Attendance Challenge winners! You’ve done it again! The question is… Who’s going to take the crown next week? 7th and 8th graders, it’s time to step up and bring your A-game!

Mark your calendars—Tuesday, August 26th is Parent-Teacher Conference Night! This is your chance to connect with teachers, hear about your child’s progress, and partner with us to make this year a success. More details will be coming in next week’s newsletter, but go ahead and save the date now.

We’re also thrilled to share some fantastic news—the official school scorecards are in, and Eastwood Middle earned an overall 89%—a solid “B” rating! Even better, we grew 5 points from last year. We are now just one point away from that coveted “A” rating, and I have no doubt that this is OUR year! Let’s keep the momentum going, Raiders!

As a quick reminder, yesterday, August 15th, marked the end of the first progress report grading period. Progress reports will be available in Home Access Center (HAC) starting August 21st. This is a great opportunity to check in with your student and celebrate their hard work—or make a plan together to get back on track.

I truly enjoy offering our students free dress as a reward for campus challenges and goals! To help make this incentive successful, we ask for your support in ensuring students still follow our free-dress guidelines. Please take a moment to scroll down and review the expectations so that we can avoid classroom disruptions and keep the focus on learning. If a student happens to be out of dress code, they will be given the opportunity to call home for a change of clothes or shoes. If a change cannot be brought, the student will continue their day in SAC. We appreciate your help in reinforcing these expectations at home. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school and ask for your child’s assistant principal. Thank you for partnering with us!

Thank you, as always, for your unwavering support and commitment to your child’s education. We say it often because it’s true—it truly takes a village, and we are so grateful you are part of ours. Together, we are building bright futures, one Raider at a time. Let’s make next week another great one!
