📢 Hello Raider Students and Families 📢
Welcome back to what promises to be another amazing year at Eastwood Middle School—home of the Raiders! I’m Mr. Zubiate, your proud campus principal, and I’m truly excited to start this school year alongside you and your children. Our students bring life and energy to our campus, and we are ready to make this a year full of learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
This weekly newsletter is your main source of campus information, and I encourage you to take a few minutes to read it each week. You’ll find important updates, reminders, and upcoming events that will help keep your family connected to what’s happening at Eastwood.
As we prepare for our first day of school on Monday, here are a few key things to keep in mind. The first bell rings at 8:15 AM, and all students will report directly to their first period class. For safety reasons, parents will not be allowed to walk their students into the building. Please rest assured that our staff will be stationed throughout the campus to welcome students, answer questions, and guide them to their classrooms. If your child does not yet see a schedule posted in HAC (Home Access Center), we will have locator lists posted across the building to direct them to their first period teacher, who will provide their full schedule. Any schedule change requests will be handled by our dedicated counseling team.
We ask all families to please review our updated Cell Phone Policy, included below, and go over it with your child. Also, please remember that the school day ends at 4:00 PM. For student safety, all children must be picked up no later than 4:30 PM, as there will be no adult supervision available after that time.
Student safety remains our top priority. During the first two weeks of school, we will conduct a scheduled fire drill as part of our ongoing safety preparedness efforts. All students will be trained in emergency procedures to ensure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency.
We also want to remind families that all visitors must stop at the Visitor’s Center and obtain a badge before entering the building. These procedures help us keep our school environment safe, secure, and focused on learning.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. I am confident that this school year will be filled with meaningful learning, positive connections, and success for all of our Raiders. Let’s make it a fantastic year—together. We are Eastwood. We are Raiders. We are ready!
